From Sitecore 8 to 9.2
To get the most out of Sitecore’s latest features and updates, Fishtank upgraded YVR to Sitecore 9.2 on Managed Cloud, including migrating their multilingual content. The upgrade gave YVR access to the latest marketing features and better support, and allows YVR to deliver relevant and personalized experiences for their visitors.
Meeting AA WCAG 2.1 Accessibility Standards
As a community based organization and website that has over 40,000 unique visitors per day, YVR needed to ensure that their site was accessible to, and usable by everyone. Fishtank performed a comprehensive website accessibility audit of yvr.ca, and made updates to YVR’s site so that it met AA WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
Significant Performance Improvement
Since YVR has over 40,000 unique visitors per day and over 400 concurrent users, performance of their site is critical. Through Fishtank’s expertise and the use of Cloudflare, YVR achieved sub-100ms web page load times globally, increased TTFB by 30 times, significantly reduced their CDN bill by 86% and reduced their bandwidth expenses by a whopping 90%. We achieved this best-in-class performance for YVR after moving YVR to Managed Cloud’s ‘small’ topology, despite Sitecore recommending much larger sizing for Managed Cloud (Medium & Large).
Custom Digital Training Portal
To help YVR train new members of the marketing team on using Sitecore, Fishtank developed a custom digital training portal, which features detailed instructions on everything a content author needs to know in extreme detail. Fishtank also recorded training videos on all tasks that are featured within the training portal. YVR can now hire new marketing team members who can be off to a flying start managing the website.
